First of all I want to state that I respect TVXQ a great amount, and I know their background history. I am well aware of the fact that they've been through so much shit to get to where they are today. I also understand that for some fans out there red is not just a colour to them, and it means a lot more than that.
But I will never understand why people feel as though it's necessary to harass a group of boys who have absolutely no say in what their fandom colour is. Be mad at YG all you want - because they made the decision - but to blame it on iKON? Honestly I don't think its right. People have been hashtagging #redisTVXQ everywhere and before that there was the whole Shinwan issue as well. People said that well, 'that's why they should've have two colours on their lightstick' thinking that it would solve everything. Even when it was revealed that it was two-toned the issue just kept on blowing up. Like it or not when it lights up depending on the button it ends up either looking like fire (a mixture of colours) or red. If you genuinely have a problem with this blame it on the person who made the choice, not the group with no say.
I don't think people realise just how young these boys are (there are three minors in the group and the eldest member is only 21.) So when they send messages on social media harassing them and blaming them for everything that has occurred it actually astounds me. At the end of the day they're just a group of boys who want to make music and perform. Fandom colours and light sticks are things that they've never had control over. You can be mad all you want be just be mad at the right people.
A lot of times hate that idols get are things that they have no say in. They do it because that's their job - they have to. Even if they wanted to complain or bring it up at the end of the day they're still signed to a label. And let's be honest, no group is going to protest towards a company that has invested time and money and given them the opportunity to debut over a colour. As someone who follows iKON I know that they're just grateful they've finally been able to debut - I don't think they'd ever complain, about anything really.
